Packing Light (ha!)

I will be in Los Angeles for five days for a work conference, and am attempting to pack everything into a carry-on.  This is a huge deal for me as I like to be prepared.  For anything.  Everything.

I just did a practice run of packing, and I think I can make it work!  So what all am I bringing with me?

4 dresses
4 tops
1 pair of black pants
3 cardigans
2 pairs of leggings
1 bathing suit
3 tshirts to sleep in
1 pair of yoga pants
Underwear
Socks
2 bras
1 tank top
2 makeup and brush bags
2 toiletries bags
Not pictured: 2 pairs of flats and 2 extra purses

I am totally aware I am ridiculous, but I like to have options.  I will be travelling in jeans and sneakers for comfort, and have a little tote to hold my main purse, a couple books and a magazine.

I hope this post makes you laugh at how crazy I am.

Work and Such

I am feeling really anxious about work.  I am a procrastinator, I always have been, and I have a huge deadline hanging over my head.  I have until Sunday to get a large project done, and for whatever reasons, I keep putting it off.  It doesnt help that I also leave Monday morning for a week-long work conference, so there is no wiggle room in the deadline, but also other things that must be done so I am ready to leave.  Five days is enough time to get things done, but I need to buckle down and finish everything.

I will still be blogging, mostly because I find it calming.  I am looking forward to sharing some more lip swatches with you, as well as some Outfit of the Day posts while I am in California.
I also reached 100 followers this week, and I am really excited about it!  I’ve decided that when I reach 132 followers, I will do a giveaway.  Not sure what yet, but it will likely be a sampling of my favorite Indie products.

So, here’s to hoping the next five days go by quickly, but not so quick that I can’t get everything done!

Stress

Everything is conspiring against me, and I am feeling realllllllly stressed.  Some of the ways I deal include pampering myself.  Doing a face mask right now, dying my hair in a little while.  I also make To-Do Lists because I feel better when I can cross things off as I complete them.  If anyone has any other tips for dealing with stress, I would love to hear them.  I am working really hard to not go shopping, because we all know retail therapy is the best.  I have a week to get things done, and July is going to be a beast of a month.  I need to stay positive, not freak out, and keep working on myself.  I will probably keep blogging often, because it makes me happy.

Pasta Primavera

Life has been hectic lately, and my stress level is high.  I spent this weekend trying to catch up on things and clean.  I made it to the farmer’s market Saturday morning and picked up some zucchini, squash, green beans and tomatoes.  Tonight I made that into pasta primavera.

Pretty easy, and sooooo good.  I also picked up whoopie pies at the farmer’s market, which I plan to enjoy for dessert!

KBShimmer’s Don’t Pink Twice

I am never going to win an award for my nail painting, but let’s be honest, most of us aren’t.  I share my nail pics so you can see some gorgeous colors, and get my take on the formula.  This color was being discontinued, and I picked it up for $5, plus 20% off.  I love it.  This is two coats.  It’s perfect for the summer, and you will probably see me wearing it again.  I am thinking this will be a great shade when I am in CA in a week!

You can puchase KBShimmer here.

Limited Edition Maybelline Color Tattoos

I never had any real interest in the Color Tattoos.  I have found my holy grail primer, and my eyeshadows last all day, so I didn’t see the need to buy the Color Tattoos.  And then someone shared photos of these two limited edition shades, and I had to have them.  I spent three weeks searching for them locally, but had no luck finding them.  One of the women in a fb group I am in offered to pick them up and ship them to me, and I took her up on it.

Sunwashed Sky

I love these.  They are quick and easy to apply, and I love the duochrome.  I am wearing Shimmering Sea today, and it is holding up great, even in the heat and humidity.

There is no good reason for the green eyeliner.  I wanted purple, but was in a hurry and green was the one I found first.

Have you tried the Color Tattoos?  Do you love them?  And how do they compare to the L’Oreal version?

I am one of the few people who hate the design of the bag this month.  Not a big deal, I have already given it away in a swap box with some friends.

I am excited about the products I received this month!  The blue eyeliner from NickaK New York is gorgeous!  I used it in a look earlier this week:

I also received an eyebrow pencil, NYX Butter Gloss in Èclair, Carol’s Daughter styling cream, and a perfume sample of Realtree.

There was an issue with a mascara from Be A Bombshell that some people received, and I am thankful I didn’t receive the mascara.

Do you subscribe to Ipsy?  Did you like your bag this month?
